Reddi is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, but it goes without saying that we can't help you find the perfect person without some information about you.
Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data). This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed, stored and disclosed by us.
Reddi Dating Limited (herein referred to as 'Reddi,' the 'company', 'we', 'us,' 'our') provides its website, www.iamreddi.com (herein 'the site' or 'site'), mobile application and web application (herein 'the app' or 'app') and other related services, including, but not limited to, matchmaking, events, venues, locations and other in-person interactions (collectively, the 'Service'). By submitting an application to Reddi, creating a Reddi account, browsing the member directory, RSVPing or attending a Reddi event, or otherwise using the Service in any manner whatsoever, you are deemed to have accepted and consented to the practices described in this policy.
The site, app, and Service is owned and operated by Reddi Dating Limited, a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales with registered company number 14119848, whose registered office is at Unit 4 Cooper Way, Parkhouse, Carlisle, Cumbria, United Kingdom, CA3 0JG (Reddi).
Reddi processes personal data as a 'Data Controller', as defined in the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
For any privacy matter, including to exercise your rights, you can contact our privacy team at hello@iamreddi.com.
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to revise, change, or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Each time we do so we will indicate at the top of the page the date of the most recent version. We encourage you to regularly check this page for the most recent version, as your continued use of the Service after the date of any such effective changes signifies your consent and acceptance thereof. If you do not accept or agree to such changes you can terminate your account as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
The site, app, or Service may contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates or to websites shared by other users. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.
We collect and process personal information so we can provide our services to you, which includes profile information and the types of people you want to meet. It's important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes. So we can provide you with the best service, we also collect information as you use our Service. The types of data we collect and process about you are explained below.
Some of the information you choose to provide us may be considered 'special' or 'sensitive', for example, your racial or ethnic origins, sexual orientation and religious beliefs. By choosing to provide this information, you give your explicit consent to our processing of that information for the purpose of operating the Service and suggesting compatible introductions.
We also collect, use and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated Data is not considered personal data in law as it will not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. If we combine Aggregated Data with your personal data so that it can identify you, we treat the combined data as personal data under this policy.
Direct interactions, information you give us when you register and use our services, create an account, complete our attachment-style or compatibility quizzes, request marketing materials, enter a competition, promotion or survey, or contact us.
Automated technologies or interactions, each time you use our Services we automatically collect technical information (IP address, login information, browser type and version, time zone, location, network data, operating system and platform) and information about your visit (the pages and profiles you viewed or searched for, response times, length of visits, and interaction information such as scrolling and clicks). Other members may also provide information about you, for instance if they interact with you or submit a report involving you.
Third parties or publicly available sources, we may receive personal data from analytics providers, social networking services, advertising networks and search information providers; contact and transaction data from payment and technical service providers; and identity and contact data from data brokers, aggregators and publicly available sources.
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly we rely on: the need to deliver the Service (to administer your account and help you connect with other members and matchmakers); our legitimate interests (or those of a third party), balanced against your rights; compliance with a legal obligation; and, for special category data and certain marketing, your explicit consent.
We use your data to deliver the Service, including to administer your account; operate the member directory and allow you to browse, be browsed by, and connect with other members; generate and rank suggested introductions and support our matchmakers in curating introductions for you; present content effectively; respond to your communications; and notify you about changes. We also use your data to improve the Service (analytics, troubleshooting, testing, research and statistics) and to keep the Service safe and secure.
We want to be transparent that Reddi uses automated tools, including artificial intelligence features we refer to as "Scout", alongside human matchmakers to help you find compatible introductions.
What this means in practice. When you use your account, we process the information you provide (such as your profile, photos, attachment-style and compatibility quiz answers, stated intentions, preferences and how you use the Service) to build a profile or "dossier" summarising what you are looking for; to generate suggested matches and the reasons behind them; and to rank and order the members and introductions shown to you. Our human matchmakers may view your profile and the information generated about you in order to curate and suggest introductions, where you have requested or are eligible for matchmaking.
AI providers. To deliver these features we share relevant personal data with third-party AI service providers who process it on our behalf and under contract. We currently use OpenAI for this purpose. These providers process your data only to provide the feature to us, are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their own models or for any other purpose, and are bound by confidentiality and security obligations. Because these providers may process data on servers outside the UK, please also see Section 12.
Your rights regarding automated decisions. The suggestions and rankings produced by Scout are decision-support tools, they help you and our matchmakers decide, and they do not by themselves produce legal or similarly significant effects on you without human involvement. You can object to this processing, ask us for more information about it, and request human review of, or express your point of view on, any outcome that significantly affects you, by contacting hello@iamreddi.com.
Legal basis. We rely on our legitimate interests (and yours) in operating an effective matchmaking service, and on your explicit consent where the processing involves special category data (such as sexual orientation or religious beliefs). We have carried out a Data Protection Impact Assessment for this processing.
Reddi includes a member directory that allows approved members to browse and discover other members. When your account is active, the profile information you choose to include (such as your name or username, photos, city, and the details you add) may be visible to other approved members through the directory and through suggested matches, subject to the privacy settings available to you in the Service. You can control and limit what appears, and you can hide your profile or close your account at any time using the in-app settings. Please only share information you are comfortable other members seeing.
We may use your identity, contact, technical, usage and profile data to decide which products, services and offers may be relevant for you ('marketing'). You will receive marketing communications from us if you have requested information from us or purchased products or services from us and you have not opted out. We will get your consent before sending you third-party direct marketing. You can ask us to stop sending marketing at any time by following the unsubscribe links in any marketing message or by emailing hello@iamreddi.com.
We will only use your personal data for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another compatible reason. If we need to use your personal data for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and explain the legal basis. We may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent where this is required or permitted by law.
We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and management procedures to safeguard and secure the data we collect. Your information is stored on secure cloud databases, servers, and third-party software. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet can never be completely secure; although we do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted to our Service, and any transmission is at your own risk.
We accept payment through third-party payment and subscription-management providers, currently Adapty (subscription management) together with Apple in-app purchase. We will never ask for your full card information, and your financial details are secured by and subject to the applicable third party's security and privacy policies.
We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for legitimate business purposes and as permitted by applicable law. The moment you request deletion, your account, profile, and photos are taken offline and are not shown to other members or matchmakers. We delete or anonymise your information, subject to a safety retention window of three months after your account is taken offline or after two years of continuous inactivity, unless we need to keep it to comply with applicable law, to evidence our compliance, to resolve an outstanding issue, claim or dispute, or for our legitimate business interests such as fraud prevention and member safety. Where we have shared data with AI providers to generate matches, we instruct those providers to delete or anonymise it in line with our retention periods.
We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We use third parties ('processors') who process personal data on our behalf and under contract. The categories and key providers we currently use are:
The only other circumstances under which we would share your personal data are: to our professional advisers (lawyers, bankers, auditors, insurers); to HM Revenue & Customs, regulators and other authorities where required; to members of our group; in connection with a sale or purchase of business or assets; and where we are under a duty to disclose to comply with a legal obligation, enforce our Terms & Conditions, or protect the rights, property or safety of the company, our members or others.
Parties with whom you may choose to share your information. You may choose to share information, photographs or other content that you voluntarily submit to your profile, which will become viewable by other members as controlled by your privacy settings. Once shared or made public, content may be re-shared by others. Always think carefully before disclosing personal data to other users, and respect the privacy of others.
Some of the data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the UK, for example where our AI providers (such as OpenAI), payment providers, or hosting providers process data in the United States or elsewhere. Where we transfer your personal data outside the UK, we ensure a similar degree of protection by relying on an appropriate safeguard, such as a UK adequacy decision covering the destination country, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can obtain more details of the safeguards we use by contacting hello@iamreddi.com.
We will ensure that your personal data is processed lawfully, fairly and transparently, and only where at least one lawful basis applies: your consent; performance of a contract; compliance with a legal obligation; protection of someone's vital interests; a public-interest task; or our (or a third party's) legitimate interests, balanced against your rights. For special category data we rely on your explicit consent.
Under the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR, you have the right to: withdraw consent at any time; be informed of what data we hold and why; access a copy of your data; have your data erased ("right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances; correct or complete inaccurate data; restrict processing; object to processing, including for marketing and including profiling; obtain your data in a portable format; not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and to request human review of such a decision (see Section 4); and complain to a supervisory authority, in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
You will not have to pay a fee to exercise these rights unless your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. You can exercise most controls directly in the Service (to access, change, hide or delete your information, manage notifications and device permissions, or close your account), or by contacting hello@iamreddi.com. Uninstalling the app does not close your account; to close your account, use the in-app functionality. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a personal data breach where we are legally required to do so.
Questions, comments and requests regarding this Privacy Policy, or to exercise any of your rights, are welcomed and should be addressed to hello@iamreddi.com.
Our services are restricted to users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not permit users under the age of 18 on our platform and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. As part of registration we collect your date of birth, and we confirm that you are 18 or over through our manual application and approval process, in which our team reviews every applicant before granting access. If you suspect that a user is under the age of 18, please contact us.
Any changes we make to this Privacy Policy will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by email. You will be deemed to have accepted the updated Privacy Policy on your first use of the Service following the changes. Questions should be addressed to hello@iamreddi.com.
